World War II Veteran, Aged 104, to be Honored and Recognized at Jesse Brown VAMC in Chicago

Chicago , IL — Jesse Brown Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) in Chicago proudly celebrates the remarkable life and service of Mr. John L. Jones a distinguished World War II veteran who has reached the extraordinary milestone of 104 years.
The medical center will host a special event on Friday August 18, 2023, at 11 a.m. to honor Mr. John L. Jones's selfless dedication to his country and recognize his invaluable contributions during the war.
Born on July 28, 1919, Mr. John L. Jones bravely served his country as a member of the US Army during the Second World War. Throughout his military career, he demonstrated unwavering courage, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to protecting the ideals of liberty and freedom.
The event at Jesse Brown VAMC will feature a coin presentation from the Jesse Brown VAMC Chief of Staff, Dr. Sarah Unterman and a letter presentation that will pay tribute to Mr. John L. Jones's service, sacrifice, and longevity. Distinguished guests, fellow veterans, medical center staff, and community members will gather to express their gratitude and admiration for this living legend. The ceremony will be a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by veterans and an opportunity to learn from their experiences.
