Veteran Health Indiana updates masking policy

Indianaoplis , IN — INDIANAPOLIS – Effective Thursday, May 11, 2023, the following masking policy will go into effect for the Richard L Roudebush VA Medical Center and Veteran Health Indiana Healthcare System outpatient clinics and facilities.

MASKING FOR STAFF & CONTRACTORS:
Masking remains required for staff when providing direct face-to-face patient care in all
settings. All respiratory precautions requirements remain in effect in accordance with
the Respiratory Protection Standard 19 CFR 1910.134. Employees shall wear respirators
when exposed to respiratory hazards

MASKING FOR VETERANS & VISITORS:
Masking is required for all Veteran patients and visitors known to have an illness or
who have symptoms of an illness in all settings. Masking is required for all visitors to
an inpatient room and the emergency treatment rooms.

Veteran Health Indiana treats more than 3,000 Veteran patients per day and has more than 3,200
employees at the Medical Center downtown and several community clinics in Central Indiana.
