April is Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month (SAAPM), and VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System is holding several events across the network informing Veterans about Military Sexual Trauma (MST) programs.

April is Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month (SAAPM), and VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System is holding several events across the network informing Veterans about Military Sexual Trauma (MST) programs. VASNHS MST Coordinator, Dr. Nicole Anders, and team will be hosting MST/SAAPM booths throughout the month. The booths will have information, facts, resources, etc. VASNHS will also be doing a CLOTHESLINE PROJECT, which is an art project dedicated to empowering those who have experienced and survived sexual assault.

Please see our informational booths at these locations and dates:

Mon. April 1 – 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Northeast VA Clinic

Thu. April 11 – 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Northwest VA Clinic

Thu. April 18 – 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Southwest VA Clinic

Wed. April 24 – 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. – VA medical center

Mon. April 29 – 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Southeast VA Clinic

Additionally, VASNHS will observe Denim Day April 24. Denim Day takes place on the last Wednesday of April. This day of action and awareness is an event in which people are encouraged to wear denim to combat victim blaming and educate others about sexual violence.
