 VA Secretary Appoints Panel of National Suicide Experts - WASHINGTON –Secretary of Veterans Affairs Dr. James B. Peake today announced the names of members appointed to two special panels that will make recommendations on ways the Department of Veterans Affairs can improve its programs in suicide prevention, suicide research and suicide education. (5/21/08)

 VA Names Members of Gulf War Veterans Advisory Committee - WASHINGTON -- Veterans who served in the Southwest Asia theater of operations during 1990–1991 will have their own special advocates before Secretary of Veterans Affairs Dr. James B.  VA Awards $1.8 Million for Nevada Veterans Home - WASHINGTON – To ensure the state veterans home in Boulder City remains a comfortable, safe residence, the Department of Veterans Affairs is awarding more than $1.8 million for improvements to the facility. (5/13/08)

 Heroism and Athletics Converge in Omaha this Summer - WASHINGTON – The 28th National Veterans Wheelchair Games, scheduled to take place July 25–29 in Omaha, Neb., will attract more than 500 veterans with disabilities. It has become the largest annual wheelchair sports competition in the world. Veterans from conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq will again join their fellow veterans in 17 competitive events being offered in Omaha. (5/12/08)

VA Retains Facilities at Four Boston Campuses - WASHINGTON -- After a detailed three-year study, the Department of Veterans Affairs has decided it will continue to provide services at its four Boston-area campuses -- Bedford, Brockton, Jamaica Plain, and West Roxbury. (5/5/08)
