All patients and visitors are screened for COVID-19 symptoms at the main entrance of building 100 or 101 (see our campus map).  You will receive a wristband at the screening station.  This wristband will clear you for entry at all of our campus buildings.

Parking: Free within the parking garage and on-campus parking lots.  Time-limited parking is available on nearby streets.

Wheelchair availability:  Wheelchairs are available upon arrival for patients who need them to access the building.

On-campus south parking lot shuttle service

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Veterans, patients, and visitors are required to be screened at our main entrance.  A van service operates continuously from our south parking to relieve you from walking the distance from the south parking lot.

Shuttle service between Seattle and American Lake VA Medical Centers

Shuttle services pick up and drop off Veterans, accompanying care givers, and employees from:

  • Seattle: near the south entrance to building 100 and Fisher House
  • American Lake: at the bus stop in front of building 81, across from building 8

Shuttle services depart both locations at the following times.  Trip durations may last 1 hour and 30 minutes during heavy traffic periods.  Times and routing can change due to traffic collisions.

  • 1:00 p.m. PT

Van services for Veterans

DAV vans

We work with Disabled American Veterans and county Veterans Affairs directors to provide transportation for Veterans and authorized caregivers to get to scheduled medical appointments.

Lodging program related van service

For patients and caregivers in fully furnished lodging, the lodging program will provide either a shuttle to and from the medical center or taxi service to and from medical appointments.

Beneficiary travel

Beneficiary travel benefits include round-trip transportation from your home to the medical center, mileage reimbursement, or special mode transport. Find out if you qualify for beneficiary travel benefits

Public transportation

King County Metro provides local bus service via routes 36 and 50 to the medical center.

Drinks and snacks are available around the clock near the main entrance lobby.

Veterans Canteen Service (VCS) Patriot Store

A full-service retail store with products like over-the-counter medicines, electronics, cosmetics, toiletries, snacks, gifts, and clothing. Purchases are tax-free.

ATMs are located in building 100 near the main entrance vending machines and south entrance elevators

Fisher House™ is a home away from home for families and Caregivers of Veterans and Active Duty Military receiving treatment at major military and VA medical facilities.
