VA Providence Women's Heart Health Event
On Friday, February 2nd, VA Providence hosted a Women’s Heart Health Awareness event in the Main Lobby, as part of the National Wear Red Day campaign.
The event aimed to educate and empower women Veterans and staff about the importance of preventing and treating heart disease, the leading cause of death for women in the United States.
The event was attended by the Women’s Health Medical Director, Lauren Schlanger, M.D., FACP and the Women Veterans Program Manager, Joanne Barrett, BSN, RN, who spoke to the participants about the risk factors, symptoms, and prevention strategies for heart disease.
The Women’s Heart Health Awareness event was a successful event that raised awareness and encouraged action to improve women’s heart health. We are committed to providing comprehensive and quality care to women veterans and staff, and to supporting them in achieving their health and wellness goals.
