I have been in the VFW for about four years now… I’ll be with the older guys, telling me stuff they’ve been through, and it puts things in perspective. ![That’s my camera…I’m a film student and I like to take pictures and film stuff, and I just got the camera a couple weeks ago… I wanted to write books, and I took some writing classes, then took a screen-writing class. I was going to try something different, [so] then I took an acting class. I liked the acting class, and then I took a directing class, and [liked] working with the cameras. Mac served a combat deployment to Iraq as a Corporal in the Marine Corps. He separated from military service after his deployment and went back to school on the post-9/11 GI Bill. He graduated from Temple University with a degree in Film and Media, and he does some contract work in the local Philadelphia area film industry. He currently works as a claims assistant for the Philadelphia VA. He received positive feedback from family and friends who saw the exhibit From War to Home. Mac bought a house and is enjoying fixing it up in his spare time; he is also active in his local VFW.
