Access Journals and Books
Most journals and ebooks are available to all staff. However, your facility may have supplemental resources specific to that site. Select your medical center to search its collection.
Get something you already know
Use your facility’s journal and book search when you already have a citation or know the item you want. This tool is best for finding a journal by title or ISSN, an ebook by title or ISBN, a training video by title, or an article by DOI or PMID. From there, you can connect to full text when available or determine whether the item should be requested through interlibrary loan.
Discover journals in your field
Use BrowZine when you want to browse journals by subject, locate a journal by title or ISSN, or follow journals of interest. BrowZine is especially useful for discovering journals in your field and keeping up with newly published content.
Access from personal devices
While on the VA network, staff can access LibLynx to use library resources via their VA credentials (PIV card). If you plan to use library resources from a personal device or when you are away from the VA network, create a LibLynx password while you are connected to the VA network so you can continue to access supported resources off-network. For off-network use
- Connect to the VA network, onsite or through VPN/Citrix/Prisma, etc.
- Use your LibLynx account to access supported library resources from home or while traveling without VPN.
- If you work at a VISN facility and are prompted to select a location, choose the closest medical center.

If you are not sure which option to use, contact your librarian or local library point of contact. Library staff can help you identify the right search path, troubleshoot access, and request materials that are not immediately available online.
