Continuing Education

The VA Library Network supports continuous learning through nationally licensed clinical and evidence resources that include CME and CE opportunities. These subscriptions help VA staff connect learning to practice at the point of care, support professional development, and strengthen evidence-based decision-making across the health system.

This page provides brief guidance on selected nationally supported resources that include CME or CE as part of VA subscriptions. Many of these tools support clinical care, education, specialty practice, and other professional workflows while also allowing eligible users to earn credit through the resource provider.

Why this matters

Continuing education through library resources allows staff to learn at the point of need using trusted tools already available through VA. This supports patient care, credential maintenance, workforce development, and responsible use of VA’s enterprise knowledge infrastructure. Staff should follow their licensing board, certifying organization, and local education office guidance on how to apply earned CME and CE credits.

Getting Started

  1. Review the resources listed on this page to identify tools that match your discipline, role, or learning needs.

  2. Follow the registration or sign-in instructions for each resource. Most CME and CE platforms require an individual account to track credits and usage.

  3. Complete educational activity, point-of-care learning sessions, or other eligible module, then claim credit using the instructions provided by that resource.

  4. Retain documentation or transcripts as required by your licensing board, certifying organization, or local facility processes.
