Prior to obtaining a degree in Nursing, I held a leadership position in an Assisting Living Dementia Care Unit and thus began my initial interest in geriatrics and elder care. After returning to CU College of Nursing to obtain my BSN I began my career with the Eastern Colorado Health Care System at the Clermont Street campus in 2007 in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit. I continued working in the critical care setting until February 2024, and have now transitioned into a GRECC Research RN role, where I will use my extensive clinical experience to help support clinical innovations to improve the quality of and access to care for our geriatric veterans.
