2010 National Survey of Veterans (NSV): Active Duty Service Members, Activated National Guard and Reserve Members, Family Members and Survivors
The survey is the sixth in a series of comprenhensive nationwide surveys designed to help VA plan its future programs and services for Veterans. This is the first time VA has included groups other than Veterans.

This survey is the fifth in a series of comprehensive nationwide surveys designed to help VA plan its future programs and services for Veterans.
The 2010 NSV public data file contains the results of the data collection such as Veterans’ demographic and socio-economic characteristics and identifies VA benefits and services most used by Veterans. The public data files also include weight informaiton to help users conduct independent data analysis. Additionally, a codebook and a listing of variables are also available separately.
Analysis of Differences in Disability Compensation in the Department of Veterans Affairs, December 2006
This state variance study addresses main sources of observed variation across states and VA Regional Offices regarding average payments to Veterans receiving disability compensation and percentage of Veterans receiving disability compensation.
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) released Profile of Women Veterans: 2014 located on the Reports page. This profile shows the demographics and socioeconomic characteristics of women Veterans. It compares women to men Veterans and women to non-Veterans. This report uses data from the 2014 American Community Survey Public Use Microdata Sample.

VA released Rural Veterans by State located on the Reports page. This speadsheet contains data from the 2014 American Community Survey and shows the demographic and socioeconomic characteristics of Veterans who live in rural and urban areas. The spreadsheet includes variables like: raw numbers, umemployment rate, disability rate, median personal income, age groups, period of service and other variables.

VA released Profile of Minority Veterans: 2014 located on the Reports page. This report uses data from the 2014 American Community Survey Public Use Microdata Sample to report data concerning the demographics, socioeconomic status, and health charactristics of Minority Veterans. It also compares major characteristics between Minority Veterans and Minority non-Veterans.

VA released 2014 Profile of Unique Veteran Users located on the Reports page. The report provides demographic, socio-economic, and utilization trends of Veterans who used at least one VA benefit or service each year between FY 2005 and FY 2014. It also includes a comparison of Veterans who used VA benefits to Veterans who did not use VA benefits. This report updates and replaces all information contained in prior report.

VA released Compensation and Pension by County: 2015 located on the Reports page. This report provides county-level estimates of the number of Veterans who received VA Disability Compensation or Pension benefits during FY 2015. It includes the Veterans’ total disability rating group, and gender. Between 2014 and 2015, the number of Veterans receiving disability benefits has increased from 3.9 million to 4.5 million.
