The Center for Women Veterans (CWV) was established by Congress in November 1994 by Public Law (P.L.) 103-446. CWV monitors and coordinates VA’s administration of health care and benefits services, and programs for women Veterans. Read more »
05/03/2016 — The Department of Veterans Affairs announced the appointment of a new director of the Center for Women Veterans. Kayla M. Williams assumed duties this week as Director, serving as primary advisor to the Secretary on Department policies, programs and legislation that affect women Veterans. View the full news release »
One of the Oldest Known Female Veterans Passes Away
04/21/2016 — World War II retired Lt. Col. Luta “Cornie” McGrath – one of the oldest known women Veterans, passed away April 14 in her home in Annandale, Virginia. She was 108 years old. Last November, McGrath was featured as VA’ #VeteranOfTheDay. View the full blog article »
