Research Interests
I am in full-time clinical practice as a general radiation oncologist at the Minneapolis Veterans Affairs Healthcare System serving those who have served our country and also have an Adjunct Assistant Professor faculty appointment at the University of Minnesota. I have enrolled patients on phase I-II institutional protocols, industry sponsored studies, and national studies including those carried out under the NSABP, NRG, RTOG, and COMPPARE organizations. I have published a number of peer-reviewed publications across a wide range of topics in radiation oncology including; stereotactic radiosurgery, stereotactic body radiotherapy, particle therapy, atlas based auto-segmentation, and additional work focusing on high value healthcare and implications of alternative payment models. I currently serve as a site enroller for the Veterans Affairs Lung Cancer Surgery Or Stereotactic Radiotherapy Trial (VALOR) and Veterans Affairs Seamless Phase II/III Randomized Trial of STAndard Systemic theRapy With or Without PET-directed Local Therapy for OligoRecurrenT Prostate Cancer (VA STARPORT) studies. I enjoy simultaneously caring for those who defended our freedom and advancing the specialty of radiation oncology for the future care of patients.
