2017 National Women Veterans Summit

The event is scheduled for August 25-26, 2017 in Houston, Texas.  The event is being hosted by VA’s Center for Women Veterans and the Veterans Experience Office and with the support of partners including Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Paralyzed Veterans of America, Vietnam Veterans of America, The American Legion, Military Officers Association of America, AMVETS, Blinded Veterans Association, Military Order of the Purple Heart, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, Optum, General Electric, USAA, the Veterans Canteen Service, IBM, Comcast, Health Net Federal Services, and BP.

Armed Services Arts Partnership Comedy Bootcamp
07/21/2017 – During the Friday evening reception, we will feature four women Veteran stand-up comics who graduated from the Armed Services Arts Partnership Comedy Bootcamp!


Journey to Normal
07/13/2017 – Thursday evening, we will screen the documentary film Journey to Normal and include a discussion with the producer and one of the women Veterans featured in the film.


Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) On-Site Claims Clinic
06/30/2017 – VBA personnel will be onsite to provide VBA claims assistance and information.  This claims clinic is by appointment only Friday, August 25th, 2017 from 10:00am-2:00pm.  To schedule an appointment, please send your request to WomenVeterans.vbavaco@va.gov with the following information:

  • Full name
  • Branch of Service
  • Mailing address
  • Contact phone number
  • Email address
  • Type of assistance requested (i.e. submission of claim for compensation/pension, status of claim, dependency, appeal assistance etc.)

NOTE:  Rating Decisions will not be completed at this claims clinic.
