Michelle B. Terry

Michelle B. Terry assumed the position of Outreach Program Manager in the Center for Women Veterans (Center), Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of the Secretary, October 2018. At the Center, she works directly for the Director. Michelle is the primary staff member that, in accordance with the Center’s Congressional mandate (Public Law 103-446), performs outreach, nationwide, to women Veterans, their family members, and organizations that support women Veterans, to ensure that they are knowledgeable of the services and benefits for which women Veterans are entitled. Her presentations influence the culture internally and externally to be more inclusive of the needs of women Veterans; advocate for and ensure the inclusion of women Veterans in VA policy and practices.

Ms. Terry’s Federal service career began in the Center October 2007 as a Program Support Assistant. In her position, she was responsible for a myriad of activities which included expertly advising and assisting the Center’s Director and Deputy Director in planning, directing, managing, and coordinating programs and activities of the Center which have a nationwide impact on women Veterans. She tracked all of the Center’s major projects, initiatives, and was the primary lead respondent for the Center’s Inquiry Routing & Information System. She also provided answers to women Veterans who called the Center seeking information.

Her extensive career with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has afforded her rewarding opportunities to serve women Veterans nationwide. During her 13 years with the Center she served in numerous positions, assuming roles of progressively higher responsibility, and leading to her current position as the Center’s Outreach Program Manager. She serves on numerous VA task forces and committees and is a tireless advocate and champion of organizations addressing women Veterans’ issues.

She is the proud mother of a Navy Veteran, and resides in Laurel, Maryland.
