It compares men to women Veterans; men and women Veterans to men and women non-Veterans; and minority Veterans to minority non-Veterans. This report uses data from the 2015 American Community Survey Public Use Microdata Sample. April 13, 2017

VA released Mortality Rates and Life Expectancy of Veterans from 1980 to 2014 This report generates estimates of mortality rates and life expectancy for Veterans for ages 20 to 85, in the 10 to 15 year periods population. The report also estimates the education and income differentials in life expectancy for Veterans in 2011 to 2014. April 11, 2017

VA released Veteran Households with Children a spreadsheet broken out by state and county for 2015 located on the Quickfacts page under the General Interests category. This spreadsheet is the first time that VA has identified Veteran Households with and without children at the state and county levels. April 4, 2017

This report is the first comprehensive report that chronicles the history of racial and ethnic minorities in the military and as Veterans, profiles characteristics of minority Veterans in 2014, illustrates how minority Veterans utilized some of the major benefits and services offered by the VA.

This quick facts summarizes the Veteran new hires into the Federal government by disabled and by 30 percent and higher disabled groups for 2008 to 2015. It shows the Veteran new hires by agency for 2015 and it also shows the Veterans by occupation for 2015.

VA released 2015 Profile of Unique Veteran Users located on the Reports page under the Utilization of VA Benefits & Services category. The report provides demographic, socio-economic, and utilizaiton trends of Veterans who used at least one VA benefit or service each year between FY 2006 and FY 2015. It also includes a comparison of Veterans who used VA benefits to Veterans who did not use VA benefits. This report updates and replaces all information contained in prior reports.

VA released Compensation and Pension by County:2016 located on the Reports page under the Utilization of VA Benefits & Services category. This report provides county-level estimates of the number of Veterans who received VA Disability Compensation or Pension benefits during FY 2016. It includes the Veterans' total disability rating group, and gender. Between 2015 and 2016, the number of Veterans receiving disability benefits has increased from 4.5 million to 4.6 million.

This spreadsheet contains data from the 2014 American Community Survey and shows demographic and socioeconomic characteristics of Veterans who belong to the Vietnam Veteran cohort. The spreadsheet includes variables like: raw numbers, gender, education,median personal income, age groups, and other varialbles.

VA released Geographic Distribution of VA Expenditures Report (GDX) located on the Expenditures page in the Expenditure Tables category. This report details VA expenditures at the state, county, and Congressional District level. It includes categories such as Compensation and Pension, Construction, Insurance, and Medical Care. Veterans population estimates and the number of unique patients who used VA health care services are also available.

This profile uses data from the 2014 American Community Survey and USVETS (2014) data to compare the demographic and socioeconomic characteristics of Post-9/11 Veterans with non-Post-9/11 Veterans and with non-Veterans. It also illustrates utilization differences between Post-9/11 Veterans and other Veterans.
