Geographic Distribution of VA Expenditures (GDX) Report
The Geographic Distribution of VA Expenditures (GDX) Report is published annually by the National Center for Veterans Analysis and Statistics (NCVAS). It details VA spending across major programs at the state, county, and Congressional District levels. The report distinguishes two types of expenditures – Direct and Indirect – and further categorizes them into the following program areas:
The methodology for the FY2025 Report is the same as that used for FY2024 Report. Individual-level expenditure data is linked to Veterans’ addresses to measure direct expenditures and place-of-performance information to capture indirect expenditures. This approach allows for precise reporting of geographic allocation of resources, providing a clearer picture of how VA benefits and services support Veterans and their communities nationwide.
