Center for Women Veterans (CWV)

From the Desk of the Executive Director - June 2019

Hello Sister Veterans,

From the Office of the Center for Women Veterans (CWV), our goal is to express to you that the VA is your home and you have access.

Many of us who served in the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard never saw ourselves as Veterans. We believe if we didn’t fight in a campaign or we didn’t retire — we are not a Veteran — or so we thought. Whether you served 1 year or 31 years of honorable service — YOU ARE A VETERAN.

We want you to use us and trust us as your portal for all things women Veterans. We are here to assist you in many ways to ensure that you are getting the services and benefits that you deserve, because you have earned them.

If you are a women Veteran or know of a woman Veteran who is not receiving VA benefits or services, please let us know. You can contact us at (202) 461-6193 or at 00w@va.gov. Find us online at www.va.gov/womenvet and on Facebook using @VAWomenVets.

Sincerely,

Jacquelyn Hayes-Byrd
Executive Director,
Center for Women Veterans
