Employee Recognition
Research Service supports public recognition of our research employees for actions and efforts that make our program better. We actively solicit nominations for employee recognition and encourage supervisors, peers, and colleagues to provide positive feedback through multiple approaches. Any or all of the recognition approaches below may be used for this purpose.
Featured Research Employee
The Featured Research Employee is used to give special recognition to an employee for a particular act of service. Awardees will usually receive a monetary bonus (Spot/Organizational Award), though there may be a delay in award processing.
Nominations will be accepted at any time throughout the year. Awards will be presented at the Research Quarterly meetings.

Kudos Cards
Kudos cards are small recognition awards distributed by the facility. Research Leadership has cards available for supervisors to distribute to supervisees.
Kudos cards have a value of $5 and can be redeemed at the VA cafeteria, gift shop, or Starbucks stand.
#VA Gratitude
The #VA Gratitude app is a simple, graphical thank you for anyone with a VA email. It is intended to brighten the day of the recipient.
