David is a physician-scientist-educator. He is Professor and Vice Chair for Research in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA. He is also Associate Director of the Amputation Rehabilitation Fellowship at VA Puget Sound Health Care System and is a Core Investigator in the VA Rehabilitation Research and Development Center for Limb Loss and Mobility (RRDT). Dr. Morgenroth has been leading multidisciplinary VA amputation rehabilitation clinics serving a five-state area in the northwest United States for the past 16 years. His research has been funded by the NIH, VA and Department of Defense and is focused on optimizing the prosthesis prescription process, improving mobility and stability, and reducing secondary disabling musculoskeletal pain in those with limb loss. He is also a dedicated educator on the subjects of amputation rehabilitation, prosthetics, and gait biomechanics, and mentor for medical students, PM&R and prosthetic residents, clinical fellows, Rehabilitation Science PhD students, and post-doctoral fellows.

Kath is a biomedical engineer and Research Career Scientist at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center. Kath is also Professor in Department of Orthopedics, Case Western Reserve University. Kath joined the VA in 2004 and has worked at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA since then. Her contributions include evidence-based preventive measures, including personalized biomarkers and bioinformatics for better understanding of risk complemented with development of patient-centered smart and cost-effective technology to address the complex, multifactorial problems of wound management. Kath has received continuous funding for over 20 years, from the DoD SCI Research Program, VA Rehabilitation Service, the Craig H. Neilsen Foundation, and the Paralyzed Veterans of America. She has published over 90 papers and chapters and holds twelve patents.
